Menus, SERVICE, KEY TYPE

The keypanel comes with either push-button or lever-style intercom keys. The correct type is factory-set and should not

require change. (The correct setting is maintained even if the keypanel is reset.)

To change the key type, do the following:

1. Select KEY TYPE.

2. Turn the SELECT control to choose either SINGLE (push-button keys) or LEVEL, and tap SELECT.

3. Double-tap the SELECT control to return to the previous menu level.

Press and hold the SELECT control for two(2) seconds to exit the menu mode.

NOTE: Remember to save your changes if you want them retained for future use. See “Menus, SERVICE, SAVE

CFG” on page 52..

Menus, SERVICE, LOCK/UNLOCK

Use this item to lock or unlock menu mode. When menu mode is locked, all items in Table 2 on page 30 are locked out and

can only be accessed by entering a 4-digit passcode.

To lock the menu, do the following:

1. Select MENUS, SERVICE, LOCK.

The call waiting window displays TAP CODE.

2. Enter a 4-digit passcode by tapping intercom keys.

When the last digit is entered, all displays briefly display asterisks while the passcode is being stored, then the

keypanel resets to the top level menu. You do not need to run SAVE CFG to store this change.

To unlock the menu, do the following:

1. Select MENUS.

TAP CODE displays.

2. Enter your 4-digit passcode.

When you enter the last digit, the menu appears.

3. Select SERVICE, UNLOCK.

When you select UNLOCK, all displays briefly display asterisks while the 4-digit passcode is being cleared, then the

keypanel resets to the top level menu. You do not need to run SAVE CFG to store this change.

Menus, SERVICE, MIC CTRL

For a KP-12 with an optional Rear Connector Module, you can use this item to select microphone input from either a headset,

panel mic or from the EXT MIC IN connector.

To change the setting, do the following:

1. select MIC CTRL.

2. Turn the SELECT control to display either EXTERNAL, AUTO, HEADSET, or PANEL MIC and tap SELECT.

NOTE: When using EXTERNAL, use either one of the EXTERNAL mic connectors at a time.

3. Double-tap the SELECT control to return to the previous menu level when finished.

Press and hold the SELECT control for two (2) seconds to exit menu mode.
